SHORT TERM 12, WINNER OF AUDIENCE AWARD
AT LA FILM FEST, IN THEATERS AUGUST 23

Destin Daniel Cretton's Short Term 12, winner of both the Grand Jury Award and Audience Award for Best Feature at the recent SXSW Film Fest, is among the 200-some films from over 40 countries screening at the 2013 edition of the Los Angeles Film Festival.

The film follows Grace (Brie Larson), a 20-something supervisor working with high-risk teens at a foster care facility, as she tries to help a gifted but troubled girl. Larson's performance has been receiving rave reviews.

Short Term 12 opens August 23 in NY and LA, with a nationwide rollout to follow.

LAFF runs June 13 - 23 at Regal Cinemas L.A. LIVE in downtown Los Angeles.
