SCREENWRITER WORKSHOPS AND PITCH CONFERENCE AT AFM 2018

The 39th American Film Market (AFM), happening October 31 –
November 7 in Santa Monica, will provide eight days of deal-making, screenings, networking, parties and conferences for some 7,000 industry execs from more than 80 countries.

The Writers Workshops and the Pitch Conference should be of particular interest to screenwriters. Both take place at the Starlight Ballroom of the Fairmont Hotel in Santa Monica.

On Saturday, November 3, the Pitch Conference will present "Pitching Essentials," followed by "The Two-minute Pitches." Moderated by instructor/consultant Pilar Alessandra, the panel will include independent producer/agent Cassian Elwes and Tobin Armbrust, president of Worldwide Production and Acquisitions at Virgin Produced.

Designed to "help you shape your screenplay into a compelling narrative that will resonate with studios, investors and a global audience," the Writers Workshops take place on Sunday and Monday, November 4 and 5. Among the topics addressed will be "You Had Me at Page One," "Transforming Your Premise into an Engaging Screenplay" and "Structuring Your Screenplay to Sell." More info
